Linda Noskova wins Wimbledon 2026, first Grand Slam title

Czech teenager Linda Noskova (21) captured her first Grand Slam by defeating compatriot Karolina Muchova (29) 6‑2, 5‑7, 6‑3 in the women's singles final at Wimbledon. The victory made her the youngest Czech Wimbledon champion since Petra Kvitová in 2011 and the third Czech woman to win the tournament in four years.

Noskova rallied after squandering five championship points in the second set, resetting mentally to take the third set and the £2 million prize. She said, “It feels incredible… physically and mentally it has been tough,” and thanked her late mother in the on‑court speech. The match was watched by Princess Kate and Czech officials, highlighting the historic all‑Czech final – the first such Grand Slam final since the Williams sisters in 2009.

With the win Noskova jumps to world No. 7 in the rankings, while Muchova moves up to No. 6. The result underscores the current dominance of Czech women on the grass courts of the All England Club.
