Wuhan Open sees multiple high-profile player withdrawals

The Wuhan Open has seen a significant number of high-profile withdrawals. World No. 6 Linda Noskova has pulled out of the tournament due to a left calf injury, choosing to prioritize her recovery ahead of her debut at the WTA Finals in Indian Wells. Her withdrawal, along with others such as Elena Rybakina, Coco Gauff, and Naomi Osaka, has led to several changes in the tournament draw, including a bye for Belinda Bencic.

Additionally, China's Qinwen Zheng has withdrawn from the event citing a shoulder injury following her recent victory at the China Open. Mirra Andreeva has also withdrawn, citing scheduling changes.

In match play, Marie Bouzková advanced to the second round after Clara Tauson retired due to a calf injury. However, Sara Bejlek was eliminated after losing to Jasmine Paolini.
