Schaeffler AG cuts 2028 revenue target as e‑mobility demand weakens
Schaeffler AG announced on 31 July 2026 that it is lowering its 2028 group revenue target to €24‑26 billion, down from the previously planned €27‑29 billion. The revision reflects weaker market expectations for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles and a sharp drop in orders for its e‑mobility division, especially after U.S. policy changes that reduced electric‑vehicle incentives. The company cut the E‑Mobility sales target for 2028 to €6.25‑7.25 billion (previously €8.25‑9 billion) and now expects an adjusted EBIT margin of –4 % to 0 % for that division, whereas the group‑wide adjusted EBIT margin target remains at 6 %‑8 % and the adjusted free‑cash‑flow target stays at €400‑600 million.
The announcement triggered a 16 % drop in Schaeffler’s share price to €6.83, with trading briefly halted. CEO Klaus Rosenfeld told dpa that “the large programmes we had for e‑mobility in America have been significantly reduced or completely eliminated,” but added that e‑mobility remains a key growth area for the group. Schaeffler will publish its half‑year 2026 results on 5 August 2026.
