Lindemberg Alves sentence reduced by 80 days due to Enem scores

The São Paulo Court has granted a request from the defense of Lindemberg Alves Fernandes to reduce his prison sentence by 80 days. The reduction is based on his performance in the National High School Exam (Enem).

Although an initial request in March was denied because he did not meet the minimum score in one specific area, the defense successfully appealed. They argued that his scores in the other four areas of knowledge should entitle him to a proportional reduction under the Law of Criminal Execution.

Lindemberg, who is serving a 39-year sentence for the 2008 kidnapping and murder of 15-year-old Eloá Pimentel, is currently detained in Potim. Including this recent decision and time earned through prison labor, he has now accumulated a total of 887 days of sentence reduction.
