Lindenwood women's soccer defeats Murray State 1-0

Lindenwood University women's soccer secured a 1-0 victory against Murray State during a Senior Day celebration at Hunter Stadium. Peyton Johnson scored the decisive goal in the 63rd minute, heading in a cross from Anna Johnson to mark her first collegiate points. Following the shutout, Peyton Johnson was named the Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive time.

Lindenwood, which holds a 3-4-1 record, is preparing for its final nonconference home match against St. Thomas. Due to excessive heat, the kickoff for the match against St. Thomas has been rescheduled to 11:00 a.m. The Lions have maintained a strong defensive presence this season, allowing one or fewer goals in seven of their eight matches.
