Lindsay Clancy, a 35‑year‑old former labor‑and‑delivery nurse, is on trial in Plymouth Superior Court for three counts of first‑degree murder after she strangled her three children—Cora (5), Dawson (3) and infant Callan (8 months)—in the basement of their Duxbury, Massachusetts home on January 24, 2023. Prosecutors say she used exercise bands to kill the children, then attempted suicide by jumping from a second‑story window, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. The defense argues she was suffering from severe postpartum psychosis and should not be held criminally responsible.

During the trial, jurors were allowed a supervised walk‑through of the former family residence at 47 Summer St., including the basement where the killings occurred, the yard where Clancy was found after her jump, and nearby locations such as a CVS pharmacy and a take‑out restaurant visited by her ex‑husband Patrick Clancy that night. The home has since been sold to a new owner. Testimony has included first responders, doctors who treated the children, and Patrick Clancy, who recounted discovering the bodies and hearing the 911 call in which he repeatedly shouted, “She killed the kids!” The case continues to draw national attention to issues of maternal mental health and criminal responsibility.
