Lindsey Graham Posthumous Sex‑Work Allegations Ignite Online Backlash

Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina died on July 11, 2026. Hours after his death, transgender actress and writer Jesse James Rose posted an Instagram thread alleging that Graham had paid her for sex work, describing “unspeakable” acts in a hotel room. Rose wrote, “Most of you know him as the homophobic Senator from South Carolina but to me he will always be the man who paid a twinky pre‑transition college student a fat stack of cash to do unspeakable things to him in a hotel room while he wore red lingerie.”

The accusations revived earlier rumors about Graham’s sexuality and prompted a wave of reactions online. Comedian Margaret Cho mocked the senator’s passing, while political commentator Ana Navarro defended Graham, calling the celebratory posts “inhumane.” The story also referenced prior 2020 claims that a Republican senator, nicknamed “Lady G,” had hired gay sex workers, a rumor that had been linked to Graham in the past.

Graham’s long‑standing record of opposing LGBTQ+ rights, including votes against marriage equality and gender‑affirming care, was highlighted throughout the coverage.
