Lindsey Vonn reaches milestone in recovery by returning to cycling
Olympic skiing legend Lindsey Vonn has reached a significant milestone in her rehabilitation by returning to road cycling. Following a severe accident in Cortina this past February, Vonn suffered a complex fracture of the upper tibia, a broken ankle, and compartment syndrome, which at one point posed a risk of leg amputation.
After undergoing eight surgeries, the 41-year-old American shared her emotional progress on social media, noting that she was moved to tears while riding. During her session, she wore the jersey of the Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe cycling team, the same team as Slovenian cyclist Primož Roglič, highlighting her connection to the Red Bull sports family. This milestone marks a major step forward in her recovery from the injuries that previously hindered her ability to walk.
