LINE Games announces playtest for CODE EXIT horror game

LINE Games has announced that registration is open for a new Steam playtest of CODE EXIT, a cooperative sci-fi survival horror game developed by Phase 8 Studio. The testing period is scheduled to run from September 28 to October 19.

In CODE EXIT, players act as agents from the Hermes organization sent to the city of Pantheon to investigate a rogue artificial intelligence named Minerva. The gameplay supports both solo play and cooperative sessions for up to four players. A central mechanic involves the Minerva AI, which observes player habits and can modify its pursuit patterns in real time based on the strategies players use.

This playtest follows previous demonstrations at events such as the Busan Indie Connect Festival and GXG 2026. The developers intend to use feedback from this round to refine tactical exploration and extraction mechanics. The game is currently targeting an Early Access release in the first quarter of 2027.
