LINE Games begins Steam playtest for CODE EXIT

LINE Games has launched a Steam playtest for CODE EXIT, a new PC co-op sci-fi horror title developed by Phase 8 Studio. The testing period began on September 28 and is scheduled to run through October 19.

This version features significant overhauls to core systems and content following a previous demo. Key updates include a streamlined single-session structure and the removal of complex puzzles to make mission objectives more intuitive. The game’s cooperative mechanics have been redesigned to focus on natural player interactions during crisis situations.

New features include a ‘Variable Styleset’ that randomly alters terrain and element placement for increased replayability. Players who die in multiplayer can respawn as a robot named ‘MiRO’ to support surviving teammates. The test also introduces a new enemy, the ‘Offline S. O. M. A’ robot, which reacts to player noise and actions. CODE EXIT is aimed at an Early Access launch in Q1 2027.
