LINE themes revert to default icons following iOS 26 update

Following the iOS 26 update, users of the LINE messaging app have reported that menu icons for many purchased “themes” have reverted to default designs or have become visually distorted. This issue occurs because the new iOS design specifications require theme creators to provide additional menu icon assets.

LINE Yahoo has stated that while some official themes, such as those featuring Pokémon or Chiikawa, have completed the transition to the new specifications, many others remain unaddressed. For individual “Creators' Themes,” the company noted that the review process is currently experiencing delays.

Users have expressed significant dissatisfaction on social media, with some demanding refunds or the restoration of original designs. LINE Yahoo clarified that themes marked with an “iOS 26 Design Partial Support” badge may still display default icons. The company has not provided a specific timeline for when all themes will be fully updated.
