LINE Yahoo and Pokémon restrict card sales on Yahoo! platforms

LINE Yahoo and The Pokémon Company have announced new measures to regulate the trading of Pokémon Card Game products on ‘Yahoo! Flea Market’ and ‘Yahoo! Auctions’. Effective October 13, the platforms will prohibit several specific types of listings to ensure a safer and more secure trading environment.

The prohibited listings include: 1. Sales of cards in full carton units. 2. Sales of empty boxes or empty packs (this restriction applies to all trading cards, not just Pokémon). 3. Mass listings of the same product for a certain period following a new release.

This initiative builds upon a memorandum of understanding signed between the two companies in July 2023. Moving forward, The Pokémon Company will share information regarding potential secondary market troubles and inappropriate distribution methods, alongside existing data on new product releases and intellectual property infringements.
