LINE Yahoo launches task automation for Agent i AI

LINE Yahoo has launched a new task function for its AI agent, ‘Agent i’, designed to autonomously collect information and notify users based on specific criteria. The service aims to transition the AI from a simple conversational tool to an active agent that performs ongoing tasks.

Key features include keyword monitoring for industry news or celebrity updates, price drop alerts for shopping, and event notifications for outings. The ‘Shopping’ agent tracks prices across multiple e-commerce sites and notifies users when a product drops below a specified price. The ‘Outing’ agent provides weekly event information for selected prefectures, allowing users to filter by scenarios such as ‘solo’, ‘with children’, or ‘on a date’.

Users can receive notifications via the ‘Yahoo! JAPAN’ or ‘LINE’ apps. LINE Yahoo plans to expand the agent’s capabilities in the future to include tasks such as making restaurant reservations and purchasing products.
