Linea d’Ombra Festival returns to Salerno for 31st edition
The 31st edition of the Linea d’Ombra Festival is scheduled to take place in Salerno, Italy, from November 9 to 14, 2026. Under the artistic direction of Peppe D’Antonio and Boris Sollazzo, the festival will feature six days of screenings, meetings, and debates focused on Italian and international cinema, with an emphasis on young filmmakers and innovative productions.
The theme for this edition is ‘Play – Gioco’, intended to frame the festival as a space for freedom, experimentation, and creativity. The event includes four competitive sections: ‘Passaggi d’Europa’, featuring five feature films from 14 European countries; ‘Corto Europa’, consisting of 17 short films from 14 countries; ‘Open Space – Premio Banca Campania Centro’, a new section for short films made in Campania by directors under 36; and ‘UniFest’, an international university contest organized by the University of Salerno.
In addition to professional juries, the festival offers a ‘Giuria Popolare’ (Popular Jury) for enthusiasts aged 14 and older to participate in the first two competitive sections. Venues include the Sala Pier Paolo Pasolini, Piccolo Teatro Porta Catena, and the San Michele Complex, which will host the new Lab/Hub section dedicated to audiovisual professional training.
