Lineage Logistics warehouse fire cleanup efforts in Los Angeles
Los Angeles County public‑health teams, working with Supervisor Hilda Solis, canvassed more than 700 homes in Boyle Heights and East Los Angeles after the Lineage Logistics warehouse fire. Residents received emergency housing assistance, air purifiers, portable air‑conditioning units and information on utility‑cost support. The county documented concerns about lingering foul odors and the need for safe‑household conditions.
Lineage Logistics has removed about 3,520 tons (7 million lb) of food waste and debris, roughly 56 % of the damaged roof, and is accelerating demolition to meet Mayor Karen Bass’s 45‑day deadline of Aug. 14. The South Coast Air Quality Management District has logged over 1,600 odor complaints and issued a demand letter; the company responded with misting systems, bleach sprays and a Posi‑Lock containment system to mitigate smells. Ongoing odor reports and cleanup progress remain central to the public‑health response.
