Linebacker Deion Jones Returns to Hometown New Orleans Saints
Veteran linebacker Deion Jones, 31, has signed a one‑year contract to rejoin his hometown New Orleans Saints. The deal marks the first time Jones will play for the Saints after growing up in New Orleans, attending Jesuit High School and starring at LSU before being drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Jones has previously suited up for all four NFC South teams – the Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and now the Saints – and brings extensive experience, including a 2017 Pro Bowl selection, more than 750 career tackles and 13 interceptions. He recorded 29 tackles in the 2025 season with Tampa Bay. The signing adds veteran depth to New Orleans' linebacker group as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
