LINEMO to add satellite connectivity and roaming benefits

LINEMO, an online-only mobile brand operated by SoftBank, has announced significant service expansions and promotional campaigns.

Starting September 1, 2026, LINEMO will integrate the ‘SoftBank Starlink Direct’ service into its ‘LINEMO Best Plan’ and ‘LINEMO Best Plan V’ without increasing monthly fees. This feature allows users to connect directly to satellites for messaging in remote or mountainous areas where traditional cellular coverage is unavailable. Additionally, the service will include enhanced international roaming benefits, offering up to seven days of free usage per month under the ‘Overseas Anshin Teigaku’ plan.

In conjunction with these updates, LINEMO is running a promotional campaign through August 16, 2026, offering up to 20,000 yen worth of PayPay points for new subscribers or those switching via MNP. A separate referral campaign running until August 23, 2026, will waive the 3,850 yen contract administrative fee and provide additional PayPay points for both the referrer and the referee.
