Lingen mayoral runoff election scheduled for September 27

A runoff election for the office of Lord Mayor in Lingen is scheduled for Sunday, September 27. The election follows a first round on September 13, where no candidate achieved an absolute majority of more than 50 percent of the valid votes.

The runoff will feature Dieter Krone, an independent candidate, and Jens Hofschröer of the CDU. Residents can apply for postal voting starting September 16, with the city recommending visits to the election office from September 18 to avoid long wait times. Polling stations will be open from 8:00 to 18:00 on election day.
