Lingewaard begins search for new mayor

The municipality of Lingewaard has launched a search for a new mayor to succeed Nelly Kalfs, who is set to step down in 2027. To guide the selection process, the municipality is conducting a survey among residents to gather input on the desired qualities and personality of the next leader.

Boukje Raes, chair of the confidence committee, stated that the committee is currently developing a profile based on resident feedback and interviews with regional mayors. This profile is expected to be finalized during the council meeting on November 19. The full selection process is anticipated to take approximately nine months, with a candidate expected to be proposed in April or May and officially sworn in by mid-June.
