Lingjiushan Buddhist Festival in Taoyuan Provides Aid to Needy

The Lingjiushan Buddhist Foundation held its 33rd Water‑Land‑Air Dharma assembly in Taoyuan from July 22‑29. As part of the event, the foundation donated 63,000 kg of rice, 1,800 bottles of cooking oil and 2,472 bottles of soy sauce—valued at over NT$180 million—to support vulnerable households in the city. The donation was received by Taoyuan City Government Social Affairs Bureau Director Chen Bao‑min, who presented a gratitude plaque.

On the final day of the ceremony, Taoyuan City Council Speaker Qiu Yi‑sheng led a cross‑party group of councilors and staff into the inner altar to offer a lamp and pray for the city. Qiu highlighted the record number of councilors attending and praised the event’s role in promoting social harmony and collective goodwill.
