Linguaglossa museum to host free Picasso exhibition in 2026
The Museo Regionale Francesco Messina – Salvatore Incorpora in Linguaglossa will host a free exhibition titled ‘PICASSO. Il segno della libertà’ from August 29 to November 29, 2026. Curated by Mery Scalisi, the exhibition explores Pablo Picasso’s creative freedom and evolving artistic language through a non-chronological selection of works.
The collection includes ceramics, lithographs, drawings, notebooks, and graphic works sourced from private collections. Notable pieces include ceramics such as ‘Woman Lamp’, ‘Femme du Barbue’, and ‘Bright Dove’. The exhibition also features works dedicated to influential women in Picasso’s life, including Dora Maar, Olga, and Jacqueline Roque.
Promoted by the Sicilian Region and the Municipality of Linguaglossa, the event aims to establish the museum as a significant cultural reference point. Mayor Luca Stagnitta described the exhibition as a national cultural event that marks the beginning of a new season for the institution.
