Linguistic identity books presented in Barcelona and Valencia

Several new books focusing on language and linguistic identity are being presented in Spain. In Barcelona, philologist and translator Pau Vidal is presenting ‘Sortir a guanyar’ (Coming Out to Win) at the Blanquerna Faculty of Communication and International Relations. The book serves as a guide for speakers of the Catalan language, addressing various linguistic typologies and the importance of using the language in all contexts.

In Valencia, Toni Mollà’s new book, ‘Les llengües de demà’ (The Languages of Tomorrow), was presented at Octubre. The event included a debate regarding the future of languages, featuring participants such as Vicent Pitarch and Martí Domínguez. The discussion also touched upon educational standards and international comparisons, such as the PISA results in Estonia.
