LinkedIn combats rise of AI-generated content on platform
LinkedIn is actively addressing the influx of low-quality, AI-generated content on its platform, which users have criticized as generic and repetitive. A July report from research firm Pangram indicated that over 40% of long-form posts on LinkedIn are AI-generated, a higher rate than the approximately 30% found on platforms like X and Medium.
LinkedIn Editor-in-Chief Dan Roth noted that this surge in “slop” constitutes a business problem, as generic content can diminish the platform's value for professional learning and deep understanding. While LinkedIn's parent company, Microsoft, has promoted AI adoption, the platform has recently scaled back its own AI tools for editing and rewriting posts to combat the issue.
