LinkedIn ranks five California universities among top 40 US colleges
LinkedIn’s Top Colleges 2026 ranking, which evaluates undergraduate institutions on alumni career progression, first‑job placement, professional networking and leadership outcomes, placed five schools from California within the United States’ top 40. Stanford University ranked 10th overall, the highest‑placed California campus. The University of California, Berkeley came in at 29th, noted for its proximity to Silicon Valley. California Institute of Technology was listed at 31, University of Southern California at 33, and Claremont McKenna College entered the list for the first time at 40.
The ranking is dominated by East‑coast schools, with Princeton, Duke, Harvard and MIT occupying the top four spots. LinkedIn’s methodology excludes military academies, for‑profit colleges and institutions that only offer online programs. In this edition, 43 of the top 50 schools remained unchanged from the previous year.
