Linkt suspends online services for major system upgrade
Major Australian toll operator Linkt has announced a 104-hour suspension of its online services to facilitate a large-scale system upgrade. The outage, which began at 11 p.m. on Wednesday and is scheduled to last until 7 a.m. on Monday, October 26, prevents customers from accessing accounts, managing vehicle data, purchasing toll passes, or making payments via the website or app.
While online services are offline, toll roads in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane will remain open and operational. Linkt will continue to record trips via electronic tags and license plate recognition, with charges processed once the system is restored.
To mitigate the impact, Linkt stated that monthly invoices due during the outage will be granted extra time for payment without late fees. The company has advised motorists to update account details, add new vehicles, and settle outstanding balances before the shutdown. Linkt noted the upgrade is intended to provide an “improved experience” for its users.
