Ottawa Senators defeat Boston Bruins 4-1 as Linus Ullmark exits with injury
The Ottawa Senators defeated the Boston Bruins 4-1 on Monday night at TD Garden. Tim Stützle led the Senators with two goals and an assist, moving into sixth place on the franchise's all-time points list. Other scoring for Ottawa came from Drake Batherson and Michael Amadio.
During the second period, Senators goaltender Linus Ullmark left the game following a collision with Bruins forward JJ Peterka. While Ullmark had stopped all 10 shots faced up to that point, he did not return for the third period. Senators coach Travis Green described the injury as a “tweak” and noted it was a precautionary measure. Backup goaltender Samuel Ersson finished the game, making eight saves in the final frame.
The Bruins, who have now lost two consecutive games, were unable to capitalize on four power plays. Rookie James Hagens scored the lone goal for Boston in the third period.
