Ubuntu and Red Hat pushed a wave of kernel updates and security fixes for core components such as OpenVPN, OpenShift, Vim, nginx, cifs‑utils, LibVNCServer, nghttp2 and Perl, addressing privilege‑escalation and container‑related vulnerabilities. Red Hat also updated hardened container images to reinforce a secure‑by‑design baseline.

Debian LTS issued emergency advisories for its stable releases, delivering updated kernel packages (5.10.259‑1 for bullseye and 6.1.176‑1 for bookworm) that resolve more than 200 flaws, as well as new nginx (1.22.1‑9+deb12u9) and OpenVPN builds that close remote‑code‑execution, memory‑disclosure and denial‑of‑service issues. The advisories list dozens of CVE identifiers, underscoring the breadth of the vulnerabilities addressed across the major Linux ecosystems.
