Recent research shows that artificial‑intelligence systems can automatically turn public Linux security patches into structured vulnerability data, accelerating both attacker and defender analysis. By extracting the exact code‑path changes, validation failures and assumptions altered in each commit, AI can produce root‑cause analyses, regression tests and detection logic within minutes, reducing the traditional reliance on expert reverse engineers.
In July, the Linux community recorded a new high‑water mark with 2,017 vulnerabilities fixed, including 539 kernel issues and 504 in Chromium.
