Linz family night and Martinsberg Perseids stargazing events announced
The newspaper Krone promoted a one‑night family festival in Linz on Friday, 17 July, offering around 15 museum‑based activities from 18:00 to midnight. Highlights include night‑time zoo tours, interactive stations at the LASK Raiffeisen Arena and Blau‑Weiß‑Stadion, a behind‑the‑scenes look at the newspaper’s own “Krone” editorial office, and hands‑on workshops at the Ars Electronica Center and the Nordico City Museum. A single ticket covers the whole family, priced at €20 for two adults plus children or €12 for one adult plus children.
The Astronomical Centre in Martinsberg invited Krone readers to the annual Perseids meteor‑shower observation evening on Thursday, 13 August. With low light‑pollution and a new moon, conditions are expected to be optimal for viewing the meteor stream, the Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy. The programme includes telescope demonstrations, short talks on summer constellations, and a chance to win two tickets via a pre‑event lottery.
