Lion City Sailors won the 2026/27 Community Shield by defeating Tampines Rovers 2-0 at Jalan Besar Stadium on September 6. The victory marks the first trophy of the new domestic season for the defending Singapore Premier League champions.

Forward Ilhan Fandi secured the win with two goals in the first half. His first goal came in the 17th minute via a header from a Diogo Costa cross, followed by a second goal in the 26th minute after a combination involving Bart Ramselaar and Farhan Zulkifli.

The match served as the debut for Fandi following his return to the Singapore Premier League after playing overseas. It was also the first match for interim coach Varo Moreno, who stepped in following the departure of head coach Jesús Casas.
