Lion Pilgrimage for Sydney youth concludes in Italy

The inaugural Lion Pilgrimage, organized by Sydney Bishop Anthony Percy, concluded after a two-week journey through Italy in July. The pilgrimage, which included young people from the Sydney Archdiocese, traveled through Milan, Turin, Florence, and Assisi, before concluding in Rome.

Designed to encourage young Catholics to integrate their faith into public, political, and professional lives, the event saw participants from various backgrounds, including education, health, trades, and politics. A significant highlight for the group was a meeting in Castel Gandolfo, where pilgrims, including seminarian Dylan House, received a blessing and met Pope Leo XIV during his Angelus address.

Bishop Percy described the initiative as ‘an immeasurable success,’ emphasizing the importance of young people living lives of faith to influence others positively across different career paths.
