Lionel Messi nears Inter Miami extension and completes club acquisition

Lionel Messi is reportedly nearing an agreement to extend his contract with Inter Miami until 2030. While his current deal expires in December 2028, club leadership, including President David Beckham and owners Jorge and Jose Mas, are working to ensure the Argentine star remains with the MLS side until at least age 43.

In addition to his club future, Messi’s international career is approaching its conclusion. Following his announcement that he will retire from international football after the 2026 World Cup, he is scheduled to play his final matches for Argentina in October. His farewell match is set for October 7 against Benin at the Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires.

On the business front, Messi has also completed the acquisition of the Spanish second-division club CD Eldense, marking a significant expansion of his professional ventures.
