Lionel Messi commissions luxury Ultima 88 catamaran from Sunreef Yachts

Argentine footballer Lionel Messi has commissioned a luxury Ultima 88 catamaran from the Polish shipyard Sunreef Yachts. The vessel, measuring approximately 27 to 29 meters in length, is currently being constructed at the company’s production facility in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.

The power catamaran features an open-plan layout, an Ocean Lounge with a hydraulic swim platform, a flybridge, and a jet ski garage. It is designed to accommodate guests in multiple staterooms, including an owner’s suite that spans the full width of the hull. The yacht will join Messi’s MIM Ocean fleet, which operates yacht charters in the Balearic Islands, including Mallorca, Ibiza, and Formentera.

Messi joins an elite group of athletes who have commissioned Sunreef Yachts, including Robert Lewandowski, Carlos Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal, and Fernando Alonso. While the exact purchase price was not disclosed, catalog prices for the Ultima 88 model are estimated to range between €7.5 million and €9.25 million.
