Lionel Messi agrees to acquire Spanish club CD Eldense
Lionel Messi has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of CD Eldense, a club competing in the Spanish Second Division. The deal involves purchasing the entity from the TH Soluciones Group, currently controlled by Colombian businesswoman Carolina Holguín.
The transaction is subject to a financial and legal due diligence process and requires final authorization from Spain’s Higher Sports Council (CSD). This acquisition follows Messi’s previous investment in the Spanish club Unió Esportiva Cornellá.
As part of the new sporting project, Messi reportedly intends to appoint Javier Calleja as the club's manager once the ownership change is officially approved. The takeover comes amid a period of legal scrutiny regarding previous ownership debts, though current representatives maintain the sale is not at risk.
