Lionel Messi records two assists in Inter Miami's draw with Atlanta United

Lionel Messi recorded two assists in his first competitive match for Inter Miami since announcing his retirement from international football with Argentina. The MLS club played to a 2-2 draw against Atlanta United at Nu Stadium.

Casemiro opened the scoring for Inter Miami in the 32nd minute following a corner from Messi. Atlanta United equalized shortly after, but Messi later provided a lofted pass to set up Luis Suárez for his 12th goal of the season before halftime. Atlanta United secured the draw in the 87th minute when Breel Embolo converted a penalty.

The match faced a delay of over an hour due to heavy rain. Despite the result, Inter Miami remains second in the Eastern Conference, trailing leaders Nashville by 10 points with 11 matches remaining in the regular season.
