During the match, Messi set up Nicolás Paz and converted a penalty to complete the scoring. His final appearance included a special No. 10 jersey and a standing ovation from teammates, coaching staff led by Lionel Scaloni, and fans.
In his farewell remarks, Messi expressed pride in representing the national team for over two decades and urged his successors to maintain squad unity. He noted, “When we’re united, we’re stronger than anyone and can overcome anything,” while warning the team to remain cohesive against external criticism.
