Lionel Messi will not present trophies at 2026 Ballon d'Or

Lionel Messi will not be presenting any trophies at the 2026 Ballon d'Or gala, according to reports from journalist Fabrizio Romano. Despite previous rumors suggesting a prominent role for the Argentine player, he has not been invited to participate in the award presentation.

Messi's attendance at the ceremony, scheduled for October 26 at the London Palladium, remains unconfirmed. The 70th edition of the France Football award will be held in London to honor Stanley Matthews, the inaugural winner in 1956.

Messi is among the 30 nominees for the award following his performance in the 2026 World Cup and his season with Inter Miami. The event marks the first time the ceremony is being held outside of France.
