Lionel Messi's career legacy digitized via new online archive

An anonymous programmer has developed ‘Messi All Goals’, a digital library designed to archive the professional career of Argentine football star Lionel Messi. The project provides a highly detailed and visual database of his legacy.

The website currently tracks 927 goals, 421 assists, and 70 iconic moments, spanning from his first professional goal against Albacete Balompie in May 2005 to his most recent performances. Utilizing open data from major competitions such as La Liga, Ligue 1, and the FIFA World Cup, the platform includes technical metrics like shot maps and expected goals (xG) for every finish.

Users can filter data by league or chronology and access specific details for each goal, including the type of strike (left foot, right foot, header, or outside the box), the assist provider, the goalkeeper involved, and the final match result. The project operates without advertisements and is supported by community contributions.
