Lionel Richie discharged after intensive care for cardiac testing
Singer Lionel Richie has been discharged from a hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, after spending three days in intensive care. The 77-year-old artist checked himself into the facility following a performance at The Muny on Saturday, August 29, where he appeared to struggle and had to perform his final song, ‘All Night Long’, while seated.
While initial reports suggested the hospitalization was due to mild dehydration, medical specialists conducted extensive cardiac-related testing during his stay. Richie has since returned to his home in Los Angeles and is reported to be feeling ‘great’.
This incident follows a similar health scare in late June, when Richie experienced dizziness during a concert in St. Paul, Minnesota, leading to the postponement of several tour dates. His next scheduled performance is set for September 26 in San Francisco.
