Lionel Richie recovers after onstage health scare, resumes tour

The 77‑year‑old singer experienced a dizzy spell while performing “Dancing on the Ceiling” at the Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul, Minnesota, on June 24, 2026. He paused, sat down and was taken to a local hospital as a precaution. Doctors ordered him to rest, leading to the postponement of scheduled shows in Chicago (June 26) and Columbus, Ohio (June 27).

Richie returned to the stage on June 30 in Pittsburgh and on July 1 in Detroit, sharing an Instagram update: “Thank you for every message, every kind word, and for all your love. I’m doing well, and I’m grateful for all of you.” He added, “Pittsburgh and Detroit were an absolute joy… See you in Toronto… let’s party all night long.” The “Sing a Song All Night Long” tour with Earth, Wind & Fire will continue through mid‑August, with no further details about the illness disclosed.
