Lions Club drives in Italy host tennis tournament and eye‑health program

The Lions Club Cherasco organized the second edition of the Torneo di Tennis dei Bastioni in Cherasco, Italy, on 23 July. Thirty‑five players entered, and Edoardo won the final in two sets. The event raised a significant donation for the Fondazione Banca degli Occhi Lions Melvin Jones in Genoa, reinforcing its charitable mission.

Meanwhile, the Lions Club Trapani, together with the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired (UICI), held a summer eye‑health prevention session at the Salesian Oratory in Trapani. Over 200 children participated in activities on UV protection, nutrition for vision, and proper eye care. Free visual‑screening tests were offered, and a collection of used glasses was launched for refurbishment and distribution to people in need.
