Lions Club funds German child‑care projects with €15,000 and €40,000 donations

The Lions Club in Fulda raised about €26,000 from its annual Advent calendar and allocated €15,000 to two local children’s programmes – €11,000 for the Rosenbrot project, which provides meals, homework help and extracurricular activities for socially disadvantaged children, and €4,000 for the Hünfelder Sorgenkinder initiative that supports families with children who have physical, mental or psychological impairments.

In the Calenberger Land region, the Lions Club Deister‑Calenberger Land has collected more than €136,000 since 2013 through its own Advent‑calendar campaign. Over €40,000 of that sum has been directed to the Fuchsbau grief‑support centre, helping roughly 60 children and teenagers process loss. The funding covers staff salaries, building costs, heating, and training for volunteer grief counsellors.
