Lions Clubs conduct vision screenings and eye care programs

Lions Club organizations in Argentina and Mexico are conducting various visual health initiatives to support their communities.

In Río Grande, Argentina, the Lions Club has completed over 12,000 visual screenings for children aged 2 to 6. Working with the Tierra del Fuego Ministry of Education, the club conducts these screenings in public schools and kindergartens to detect early signs of vision problems. The program is scheduled to expand to Tolhuin in September.

In Saltillo, Mexico, the Lions Club District B-3 recently held its first cataract surgery session for the 2026-2027 administration, treating 27 individuals. The organization also announced a low-cost eyewear campaign scheduled for August 26 to improve access to vision services.
