Lions FC secured a 3-1 comeback victory against the Wollongong Wolves at Macedonia Park during the Australian Championship. After trailing 1-0 following a 54th-minute goal by the Wolves, the Queensland-based Lions scored three unanswered goals in 29 minutes to win the match.

The victory marks the second consecutive win for Lions FC, bringing their total to six points from three matches. The team is now positioned as a contender for the knockout finals as they prepare for a Round 4 match against South Hobart.

In separate news regarding the Wollongong Wolves, 20-year-old left-back Sebastian Duarte has re-signed with the club for the 2027 NSW NPL season. Duarte, who recently received both the Wolves player of the year and players' player of the year awards, reportedly rejected lucrative offers from other clubs, including the Marconi Stallions, to remain with the team.
