Lipník nad Bečvou parties negotiate coalition after municipal elections

In the municipal elections in Lipník nad Bečvou, the party ‘Za náš Lipník a místní části’, led by Pavel Šoltys, emerged as the winner with 30 percent of the vote and seven seats in the 21-member council. The second-place group, ‘Město pro budoucnost’, primarily composed of Christian Democrats and led by Deputy Mayor Ondřej Vlček, secured over 24 percent of the vote and six seats.

Negotiations are currently underway to form a stable coalition between these two groups, aiming for a majority of 13 to 14 votes. Other parties in the council include ANO (14.6%, 3 seats), Pro moderní Lipník (11.82%, 2 seats), Unie pro Lipník (11.62%, 2 seats), and ODS (5.91%, 1 seat).

Following the election results, long-time Mayor Miloslav Přikryl, whose party ‘Unie pro Lipník’ failed to secure seats, will step down after 26 years in office. The positions of mayor and deputy mayor are expected to be filled by the winners of the election.
