Liptovska Bryndza Festival and Memorial Service in Slovakia

In Liptovský Mikuláš, the Liptovska Bryndza Festival will celebrate the achievement of obtaining a protected designation of origin for Liptovska bryndza. Organized by the civic association Bačova cesta, the event features demonstrations of traditional sheep farming, folklore, and crafts. Attendees can observe the production of the cheese, meet traditional artisans, and view sheep and Slovak shepherd dogs.

Separately, in Vrátna, mountain rescuers and residents will gather at a symbolic cemetery in the Malá Fatra mountains to honor victims of mountain accidents. Three new memorial plaques will be installed to commemorate a 73-year-old Czech tourist, a 51-year-old Slovak tourist, and a 46-year-old man who died during the summer hiking season. The cemetery, established in 1998, serves as a memorial to those lost in the mountains.
