LIRA software verification for reinforced concrete design in Peru

A research study in Piura, Peru, is evaluating the LIRA v10.14 software to determine its compliance with the Peruvian Technical Standard NTP E.060 for the structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete buildings. While the software is based on the ACI 318 framework and widely used by professionals, there is a lack of technical validation regarding its compatibility with local Peruvian regulatory requirements.

The investigation employs a comparative descriptive methodology, measuring the software's automated results against manual calculations performed according to NTP E.060. The study focuses on three representative structural systems: frames, structural walls, and dual systems, using specific models to assess the precision and reliability of the software in ensuring structural safety and regulatory conformity.
