Lisa Baum debuts for German national team with tribute to brother

Lisa Baum, a 19-year-old footballer for FC Arsenal, made her debut for the German women's national football team during a 4-2 victory against Australia.

During the match, Baum wore a piece of tape on her left wrist bearing the name of her late brother, Dennis, who passed away in a car accident in 2022 at the age of 17. Baum, who stated that her brother was the reason she began playing football, also included his initials on her shoes as a tribute.

Before the match, Baum expressed her emotional connection to her brother, noting that the tape allows her to feel his presence during her debut and stating, “I hope he sees it.”
