Lisa Baum prepares for Germany women's national team debut
Lisa Baum, the 19-year-old winger from Arsenal WFC, is set to make her debut for the German women's national football team. Baum is the only newcomer in the squad selected by head coach Christian Wück for upcoming test matches against Australia in Karlsruhe and Japan in Bremen.
Baum, who recently moved from RB Leipzig to England, described the nomination as a “childhood dream come true.” She noted the positive environment within the team and the high-quality training conditions at Arsenal.
In a personal tribute, Baum shared that she wears tape on her left wrist featuring the name of her brother, who passed away in a car accident in 2022, to keep his memory with her during matches. These international friendlies serve as part of the team's preparation for the World Cup in Brazil.
