Lisa Jakub recalls living in Menendez brothers' murder house

Actress Lisa Jakub, known for her role in the 1993 film ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’, has shared a personal account of living in the Beverly Hills mansion where the Menendez brothers murdered their parents in 1989.

In excerpts from her memoir, ‘You Look Like That Girl’, Jakub describes staying in the 9,000-square-foot residence at 722 North Elm Drive when she was 13 years old. Her mother had taken a housesitting position for a producer and screenwriter who had purchased the property at a discount following the killings.

Jakub recounts a chilling moment while watching a news segment about the ongoing Menendez trial on a large theater screen. Upon seeing black-and-white photos of the crime scene, she realized the room depicted in the footage was the exact room she was currently sitting in. She described the realization as making her ‘grasp for air’ as she recognized the layout and the position of the furniture where the victims had been found.
